Netterlund, Patricia Jean (23 July 1952 – 23 February 2023)
Patricia Jean Netterlund, 70, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away at J.A. Wedum
Residential Hospice in Brooklyn Park, MN, on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, at 8:40
a.m.
Patricia (Rasmussen) was born July 23, 1952, in Marshfield, to Walter and Julia
(Krze) Rasmussen. She received her education in Greenwood, and North Central
Bible College (now North Central University) in Minneapolis, MN. She married
Myron Netterlund Sept. 24, 1988, in Roseville, MN, at Northwestern University's
Nazareth Hall with reception following in the Blue Room. Upon graduation from
NCBC she went on to work for the law firm of Arthur, Chapman & McDonough as a
legal secretary for several years. She later chose to be a housewife with some
temporary assignments as an Admin Secretary or contract receptionist.
Parenting was a major priority to Patti. She was a faithful wife and loving
mother. Throughout the years she was active in their events, accomplishments and
nurturing. As a grandmother she was equally enthused about her grandchildren;
Hadassah, Shepard, and Zipporah of parents Ryan (Hayli) Netterlund, and Raelyn
and Bjorn of Kristina (Cole) Thearin.
She is survived by her husband, Myron Netterlund; their two children Ryan (Hayli)
Netterlund, Kristina (Cole) Thearin and five grandchildren; one sister; Shirley
(Rasmussen) Denk of Waukesha, and two brothers: Roy (Mary) Rasmussen of
Greenwood, and Gary (Tina) Rasmussen of Eau Claire. She was predeceased by her
parents and sister, Ethel Solmonson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, April. 1, 2023, at
Immanuel United Church of Christ in Greenwood, with the Rev. Asafa Rajaofera
officiating with burial being made in the West Side Cemetery

A March 3 wedding is planned for Merri L. Peterson and James D. Hamer. Parents
of the couple are Robert and Pat Parks, formerly of Neillsville and now of
Woodstock, Illinois, and Jim and Shirley Hamer, Huntley, Illinois.

Bruce Walters Fire (Benefit - 1984)
The Bruce Walters family had a fire which destroyed their trailer home and all
their belongings. The American Legion got together and decided to sponsor an
oyster stew supper on their behalf. The supper was held February 4 for a large
crowd at the Humbird Community Hall. The proceeds went to the Walters family.
For those who did not want oysters, homemade chili was available.

Elmhorst, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick (Golden – 24 January 1984)
Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Elmhorst were honored at a 50th anniversary celebration
held at the Sportsmen’s Club Hall in Granton on January 21. Festivities included
a musical program, dinner and dancing in the evening.
Frederick was born in Kankakee, Illinois, on January 6, 1911. He moved with his
family to a farm in the Town of York in 1923. He attended public school and
graduated from Zion Parochial School in Granton.
Christine Daniels was born in Sheboygan Falls, and moved with her family to a
farm in the Town of Grant in 1916. She attended public school and graduated from
Granton High School.
They were married in Granton in the parsonage of Zion Lutheran Church by the
Rev. Arthur Laesch on January 24, 1934. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Elmhorst were their
attendants. They farmed in the Town of York and later went into the logging and
trucking business with their sons helping.
Their children are Frederick of Lakeland, Florida; Thomas, Albuquerque, New
Mexico; Mrs. Donald (Geraldine) Scharf, Granton; Mrs. Richard (Catherine) Winter
of Granton and Mrs. David (Barbara) Bendlin of Milton. A son David, died at the
age of ten.
Since retirement, the couple have spent time visiting their sons during the
winter months. They also sold Christmas Trees in Texas and South Dakota. They
worship at Zion Lutheran Church in Granton.

Matousek, Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Golden – 30 January 1984)
The children of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Matousek hosted a dinner party on Saturday,
January 28 in Lewisville, Texas, in observance of their parents 50th wedding
anniversary.
Helen Short and Louis Matousek were married on January 20, 1934, in Neillsville,
by the Rev. George Longenecker. Their attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Armin
Gerhardt.
The Matouseks lived most of their married lives in West Allis. Upon retiring in
1972 they moved to Texas to be near their two children. They also have two
grandsons, four granddaughters and one great grandson.
Relatives and friends from Washington D.C., Neillsville, Merrillan and
Milwaukee, and the Texas cities of Dallas, Plano, Holly Lake Ranch, Fort Worth
and Carrollton were in attendance.

Clark Co-UW-River Falls (Winter Carnival- 1984)
Among those who are competing for UW-River Falls title of Winter Carnival king
and queen are Carol Lezotte and Jim Rumpel. Carol is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Leroy Lezotte of Neillsville and Jim is from Arcadia. The duo joins 16
other couples in the competition with the winner announced on February 9.
