Tompkins, Vern (1901? - 18 Apr 1920)
The funeral services of the late Vern Tompkins, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tompkins, were held on Tuesday afternoon. The services were held at the residence one and one-half miles north of Owen, Clark County, Wis.
Rev. W. H. Sargent, Pastor of the Congregational Church of Owen, conducted the services and the High School Octet under the leadership of Mrs. A. M. Wilson, rendered appropriate music.
Vern Tompkins was born at Mineral, Wis., and died Sunday morning April 18, 1920, at Owen, at the age of 18 years.
The beautiful flowers showed the loved and sympathy of a host of friends. The deceased was a member of the senior class of the Owen High School, but owing to his illness, he had to drop out from his class.
Those from out of the city who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Roy Humphrey of Chisholm, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Whittington of Detroit, Mich. Mr. Clyde Humphrey and Miss Lydia Tompkins of Mineral, Wis.
