Amos Lyman, a charge in the poor house, from the town of Sherman, died on Monday at midnight at the age of 80 years and 8 months. He has been a lone resident of that hospitable and well managed institution, and seemed to like the place as well as he would his own home.
C. S. Chandler, who has been spending several months in Dakota visiting his daughter at Ludden, and where he went to regain his health, returned home to Neillsville last Friday, as spry as a kitten. The clime of Dakota seems to have agreed with the old gentleman remarkable well.
Vet Marsh and wife, of Granton, visited relatives in town this week. Vet remarked that these were hard times and he was going to sponge on his friends as much as possible. Come and dine with us, Vet. We have a lot of boiled-up exchanges which you can feast on, with condensed editorial sauce for a wash, and subscription green wood for a relish. Come, Vet.
