Atkin, Bessie (Marriage - 26 Mar 1921)
Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock, at Marshfield, Wis., occurred the marriage of Miss Bessie Atkin and Mr. Charles Kangas. The ceremony was performed by Justice of the Peace Andrews. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schroeder of Amber, attended the couple.
The bride was beautifully attired in a Mrs. Harding blue broadcloth coat, while the dress was a combination of blue messaline and georgette crepe. She wore a large picture hat.
Mrs. Kangas is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Atkin of Amber, and Mr. Kangas is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kangas of the same place. Both are well known and have a large circle of friends. The young couple took a short trip to Chili, Clark County, Wis., returning to Amber Monday noon.
An elaborate supper was served on Monday evening at 5:30 at the home of the bride's parents. The following guests were present: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wenzel and son Milford, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kangas and children, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dicks and daughter Winifred, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Very and Messrs. John and Fred Warns, Will Kangas and Demaine Kennedy.
Mr. and Mrs. Kangas were the recipients of many useful and beautiful presents. They have the best wishes of the entire community.
