Yesterday morning of 2 o’clock the large red barn of Robert Schofield’s at Greenwood, with its entire contents, was destroyed by fire. The origin of the fire is unknown but is supposed to be either incendiary or caused by tramps. The building was insured for $1000 and the contents for $500 in the agency of Grow, Schister & Co. of this city.

Fred Huntzicker has purchased a pneumatic hunting boat, which he will take with him on his western trip. The boat is filled with air, forced in by means of an air pump. It is round and is propelled by means of the feet which are encased in rubber with wings or fins, and a person goes through the same motion in propelling the boat that he does when walking.

Will Alderman Taylor and Brewster of the second ward, draw up a series of resolutions to present to the counsel at its next meeting, asking that body to prohibit Charley Bradford from using and disgracing peaceful Court street or "Lovers Lane" by learning to ride a bicycle on the same. It was a fright to see the not very graceful diabolical athletic antics he cut while attempting to ride his wheel. Alex Holverson has been laid up with hysteric caused from laughing to see Charles go through his gymnastic performances. Now, Lovers Lane should not thus shockingly be disturbed or intruded upon by common sport seekers.

TO THE PUBLIC: It is true that Mr. Jas. Campbell has got through painting at this place, but the business will be continued on at the old stand just the same. I have engaged A.
