Ryan, Mary E. (FEB 1850 - 17 NOV 1922)
Death late Friday evening took the life of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Ryan, aged 72 years and 9 months, at her home in the village of Withee, Clark County, Wis., after an illness which confined her to her bed for the past five weeks. For the past few years she had not been in the best of health, but never was confined to her bed for any length of time, death being caused by Bright's disease. She was a pioneer woman of the village, having lived there for more than thirty years. In her early life she was an active church worker and continued in her faith until the time of her death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the Catholic Church at nine o'clock, Rev. Father Eiselmann officiating, and burial was made in the family lot at Riverside Cemetery.
She leaves to mourn five daughters, Mrs. William McCarthy, Hurley; Mrs. H. A. Vrouch, Ironwood, Mich.; Mrs. Frank Trover, Hibbing, Minn.; Mrs. Ole Anderson and Miss Josephine Ryan of the village; and one brother, Dick Sullivan of Wausau, all of who were in attendance at the funeral. Her husband preceded her in death about four years ago. The bereaved children have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in the loss of their mother.
