Sturner, Waunetta (1906 - 7 Dec 1922)
Waunetta Sturner, aged sixteen years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Sturner, passed away at a Madison, Wis. Hospital on Thursday afternoon of last week, following an illness of a few days. A few days before the deceased contracted a bad cold, which developed into typhoid pneumonia, her heart failing toward the last.
Waunetta Sturner was a graduate of the Curtiss, Clark County, Wis. State Graded School, and Colby High School, class of 1921. At the time of her death she was a student at the Four C. Business College in Madison.
A memorial service was held at the college chapel at Madison on Friday afternoon, and funeral services were held at the home at Curtiss on Sunday, Rev. Luckes of Colby officiating. The beautiful flowers and the large number of friends who gathered to pay their last respects showed the high esteem in which the deceased was held in this community.
She leaves to mourn her untimely death, her parents and sister, Gladys, who have the sympathy of a host of friends and relatives.
Relatives from away attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Sturner, St. Paul; Emil Sturner, Lowell; Albert Loesch, Reedsville; Mrs. Nielander, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Riplinger and Fred Sturner of Riplinger.
