Clark, Hugh (1882? - 16 Jan 1923)
Hugh Clark, of whom mention was made last week, of going to the hospital for medical treatment, died on Tuesday evening at 9 o'clock, at Chippewa Falls, where he had gone to undergo an operation for rupture, and six days after the operation he passed away. Mr. Clark was injured about five weeks ago while at work on the log landing of the John S. Owen Lumber Co., and after being laid up for several weeks was advised to go to the hospital for an operation, believing that a permanent cure could be had. After undergoing the operation he continually failed until he passed away.
He was forty years of age, and for the past seven years has made Owen, Clark County, Wis. his home, and those who became acquainted with him while a resident here have only words of praise for him as a gentleman and friend. He was a member of the Mystic Workers and was a good husband and father. He leaves to mourn, a wife and one daughter, Viola, aged 13 years.
The body was shipped from Chippewa Falls to Stanley Thursday and taken to his old home at Eidsvold, where funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and burial will be made in the family lot in the Eidsvold Cemetery.
