Sturgeon, Gilbert (Oct 1851 - 16 Apr 1923)
Gilbert Sturgeon, a resident for the past seventeen years of this city (Owen, Clark County, Wis.), died at the home of his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Morley, where he has been making his home since moving to Owen, Wednesday afternoon at five-thirty o'clock. Death was due to liver trouble, with which he had been confined to his bed for the past several weeks. He was 71 years and six months of age. For the past three years he has been engaged in the soft drink and lunch business, operating a lunch counter on Highway 16, at the east side of the city. Mr. Sturgeon came to Owen when the town was first incorporated, and had been engaged at different occupations until he entered business for himself.
He leaves to mourn, four daughters and one son, Mrs. Bert Morley of this city, Mrs. Richard Brandt, Withee, Pear, whose address is unknown, Theo of Withee and Frank of this city.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10 o'clock from the Holy Rosary Church, Rev. Eiselmann of Abbotsford officiating, and burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery.
