Mrs. Frank Huagerford, of Veefkind, spent several days last week with friends here.

Among those in attendance at the state fair this week are: Mr. and Mrs. Fike, E. W. Sawyer, H. H. Henning, W. D. Durkee and Mrs. Londgreen.

WILCOX: Born to Mrs. And Mrs. Jack Youngs, a baby boy, Sep 10, 1896.

Walter Rowe made a trip to Loyal Sunday.

E. H. Lindsley and wife returned home from Chicago Saturday.

A honey sociable was given, Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Tucker. $8.40 was realized.

Sylvester Pease, Sr., died Monday, of old age.

F. C. Freer and wife, of Neillsville; were in our midst Sunday.

Ed. Tucker was over from Christie a short time Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Adams have returned from their visit to Minneapolis.

T. H. Ide was seriously ill the past week.

Charlie Gillman, of Neillsville, is the guest of Jesse Mortimer.

It is reported that the Clintchman family are in a destitute condition, and that sickness has found its way to their home. It is said that one little girl is stricken down with typhoid fever and the mother seems to be helpless on account of sore hands. The condition of affairs seems to be deplorable, and we hope the authorities of our town will inquire into the matter and try to render assistance to a poverty stricken and suffering family
