Colby is to have a state bank. The promoters are Wm. Johnson of Greenwood, Andrew Emerson of Loyal, Cullen Ayers of Unity, Erastus Bowen of Greenwood, Kinzie Andrews of Medford and R. B. Salter of Colby. Capital stock, $25,000. Kinzie Andrews, it is expected, will be cashier. A brick building 28X50 feet will be built for the bank.
Last Saturday Mrs. Jas. Flynn was brought from Merrillan to this city for the purpose of having an operation for the relief of a mastoid abscess. On Sunday the peration was successfully performed by Drs. Conroy, Lacey and French. The operation, which is a difficult one, required trehining the skill. A similar operation was performed by the same physicians last week Tuesday on a child of Joseph Schwellenbach, living near Globe.
