Leroy G. Schumacher

Leroy G. Schumacher, age 71, of Neillsville, died Friday, June 6, at his home. Leroy was born Dec. 5, 1931 in Butler, Milwaukee County, the son of George and Isabel (Bull) Schumacher. He was united in marriage to Frances Lawton on Dec. 1, 1951, at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Marcey.

Leroy served in Japan during the Korean War. He was employed for 27 years as a truck driver for Brookfield Lunber Co. and resided in Germantown. In 1985 the moved to the Town of Washburn, Clark County.

He was a member of the Teamsters Local 200, and enjoyed hobby farming and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife Frances of Neillsville; three children, Robert L. (Janette) Schumacher of Wild Rose, Suzanne F. (Michael) Heili of West Bend, and Jeff A. Schumacher of Neillsville; sisters Delores Weiczorek of Oak Creek, and Helen (Joe) Jessen of Pewaukee; brother George Schumacher of Milwaukee; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 9, at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Neillsville, with Rev. Woodrow Pace officiating. Burial was in the Wisconsin Veteran Memorial Cemetery at King. The Richmond Haugen Post 73 of Neillsville provided the honor guard, and the U.S. Army presented the flag at King.
