Lena (Whittlinger) Bauer

WISCONSIN RAPIDS- Lena Bauer, 94, sister of Gertrude Becker, Owen, and Esther Ayer, Unity, Wisconsin, died at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home, Port Edwards where she had lived for 10 years.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Joseph Bilgrien will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today and Wednesday until 10 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home, Wisconsin Rapids. A parish prayer service will be at 7:30 this evening.

The former Lena Whittlinger was born May 10, 1891 in New London, a daughter of Charlie and Elmar Whittlinger.

She was married to George Bauer, December 1, 1909, in Loyal. He died July 25, 1964. She was life long resident of Central Wisconsin.

Surviving, besides her sisters, are one son, Paul, Woodinville, Washington; six daughters, Angeline Simkowski, Wisconsin Rapids, Mercel Nowalis, Waukesha, Eleanor Day, Cambia, California, Velma Biagdon, Port Angeles, Washington, Genevieve Budrow, Carmichel, California, and Madeline Bauer, Sacramento, California; 28 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband she was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, four sisters and one daughter.
