Earl Sook (1919 - 1985)
Earl Sook, 65, 100 Harris Ave., Waupun, died Thursday, October 17, 1985, at Waupun Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 19, 1:30 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Town of Trenton, with Rev. Timothy Biebert officiating. Burial followed at Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield, with American Legion Post 210 of Waupun conducting military services.
Mr. Sook was born October 25, 1919 in Clark County, son of Lester and Christina Bauer Sook. He married Esther Zills in Oakfield, Wisconsin, on December 12, 1942.
In May of 1945, he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in WWII in Japan and was decorated with the Victory Medal. Following his enlistment, the couple farmed in the Waupun area. Later he worked for the Wyenberg Shoe Factory, Beaver Dam, until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Town of Trenton, and a member of the American Legion Post, Waupun.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Luanna) Kreuziger, Waupun; one brother, Arnold Sook, Kansas; two sisters, Mrs. Norbert (Lavina) Elsinger, Fond du Lac and Mrs. Arnold (Shirley) Riese, Oakfield; one grandson’ two step-grandchildren; one great-step-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
