Raymond E. Stroming, Sr.
Raymond E. Stroming, Sr., 76, Abbotsford, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, November 5, 1991 at the home of his daughter in Schofield. Funeral services were Thursday, November 7, 1991 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp. Rev. Robert Olson and Rev. Robert Wilckens officiated and burial was in East Thorp Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Thorp American Legion Post #118. Pallbearers were Daniel Salacinski, Travis Stroming, Dave Hibbard, Richard, Rodney and Randy Hearly.
He was born September 29, 1915 in Morrison County, Minnesota to August and Anna Helena (Landwehr) Stroming. His first marriage was to Ruth Marie Burke, November 25, 1936. She died April 23, 1982. He married Carol Jean O’Brien Kollmansberger, June 3, 1989. He moved to Thorp in 1958 where he owned and operated Stroming Fiberglass Company until 1989. He lived in Abbotsford the past two years. He served with the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post at Thorp.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; three sons, Justin of Abbotsford, Raymond, Jr., Tomahawk, and Roger of Wausau. Two daughters: Mrs. Dave (Toddy) Hibbard, Schofield, and Mrs. Robert (Ruth Ann) Hearly, Two Rivers. One brother, Elroy Stroming of Tomahawk and one sister, Ann Biesterfield of Sun City, California; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, August and Edward and five sisters, Marie Massa, Ella Buckahn, Louise Stroming.
