Nielsen, Rudolph (1866- 28 Augl 1926)
Rudolph Nielsen, one of the early settlers of the town of Hixon, Clark County, Wis., died at St. Joseph's hospital at Chippewa Falls Saturday afternoon after an illness of three weeks of diabetes. Mr. Nielsen went to the hospital for an examination, and after his trouble was discovered, he gradually grew worse until he passed away.
He was one of the early settlers of Hixon, coming there more than thirty years ago, and settled on the farm, which he now owned about one and one-half miles northeast of the village of Withee. He was for several years a member of the town board, and has held offices of trust in connection with the same. He was an industrious farmer, and from a wild piece of land in the beginning, owned in recent years one of the finest pieces of property in the township.
His body was brought from Chippewa Falls Sunday morning, and on Wednesday afternoon funeral services were conducted from the Danish Lutheran Church, rev. Petersen officiating, with burial taking place in the church cemetery.
He leaves to mourn, his aged wife, one son, Hans, and one daughter, Mrs. Henry Subke of Owen, besides numerous other relatives.
