Englebretson, Lester (5 Apr 1909 - 17 May 1927)

Ptomaine poisoning caused the death of Lester Englebretson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Englebretson of Withee, Clark County, Wis., at the St. Joseph's Hospital at Chippewa Falls on Tuesday. The lad had been taken there for treatment after being at home sick for a week, where all had been done to restore him to health. The poisoning was the result of eating a large quantity of bananas, followed by a considerable quantity of pure cream. The lad partook of the bananas and cream about two weeks ago, and shortly after developed a fever. Medical aid was summoned but the poison gained so much headway in his system that it was in the advanced stages of ptomaine poisoning. He was eighteen years of age, and was an industrious young lad, recently having been employed at the Withee Creamery. He leaves his parents and several brothers and sisters to mourn his departure. Funeral services will be conducted Friday and burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
