Kujala, Matt (1906 - 5 Augl 1927)

Matt Kujala, a resident of the town of Maplehurst, Taylor County, Wis., who was suffering with lock jaw, died at the hospital at Chippewa Falls on Friday of last week, after an illness of about three weeks. He was twenty years of age.

Kujala was injured on the right hand by a blank cartridge being shot into his hand while handling a rifle. He thought little of the injury and neglected having it treated, until severe pains began, and then medical aid was summoned. On Monday of last week he was removed to the hospital and treatment there was of no benefit.

Funeral services were conducted Monday and burial took place in Riverside Cemetery.
