Poppe, Augusta (1853 - 15 NOV 1927)

Mrs. John Poppe, residing in the town of Longwood, Clark County, Wis., passed away at the hospital at Chippewa Falls, Tuesday morning, after an illness extending over a long period of time. She was 74 years of age, and for the past fifty-five years has made her home on the farm, which is now owned by her son. She was one of the pioneer women of the county, settling in Longwood township long before the railroad had come into this section of the state. The farm on which she and her husband resided was homestead land. She was a good mother, and raised a large family, many of who came to attend the funeral.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon from the home of her son, John Poppe, and burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery. Rev. W. P. Powell of the Congregational Church of Owen will officiate.
