Kodl, Milton January 20, 1908 - March 38, 2003

Milton J. Kodl, Sr. age 95, died at his residence on Friday, March 28, 2003. Services will be held at a later date. Thorp funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Milton John Kodl was born on January 20, 1908 in Chicago, IL, the son of John and Josephine (Spala) Kodl. He was raised in Cicero, IL and received his education at Cicero Public Schools. Milton was united in marriage to Edna Nieman on April 28, 1934 at St. Ludmilla Catholic Church in Chicago. He worked as a laborer for Western Electric and later was a supervisor at Western Felt.

In 1941, they moved to Thorp, where they purchased a farm and began farming. Milton farmed until retiring in 1970, at which time he moved into Thorp. He resided there until the time of his death. Milton had many interests, but especially enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Edna of Thorp; four daughters: Elaine (Gale) Kienholz of Woodbury, MN, Marjorie (David) Smith of Payson, AZ., Jeanette (Paul) McCatharn of Ocala, FL., Deborah (James) While of Gilbert, AZ., one son Milton Jr. (Norma) of Owen; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters: Ann, Sylvia, Mildred and Lillian.
