Skidmore, Ann M. (30 Jan 1842 - 21 May 1929)

Ann Maria Pugh was born in West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England, Jan. 30, 1842. In 1865 she was united in marriage to Benjamin Skidmore, also of West Bromwich.

In 1871 they came to Bay View, Wis. with their two sons, Benjamin and Edward and two daughters, Zillah and Lucy. Here they lived until 1879, when Mr. Skidmore, joining the pioneers, took a homestead in Holway, Taylor Co., Wis., where she has lived ever since.

Her husband, a son, Josiah, and several infants preceded her in death.

She passed away peacefully after a long illness, May 21, 1929, in certain hope of meeting many loved ones who have gone before.

She leaves to mourn her loss, one son, Benjamin and four daughters, Mabel, Elizabeth, Mrs. Ira Hawks of Withee, Clark County, Wis. and Mrs. Minnie Green of Curtiss, Clark County; a sister, Mrs. E. Trout of Detroit, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted from the Congregational Church of Curtiss, Friday afternoon, May 24th, Rev. W. P. Powell of Owen, officiating, with interment taking place in Pine Hill Cemetery.
