Blair, John F. (1859 - 23 OCT 1929)

J. F. Blair, who resided in this vicinity for the past 22 years, died at his home 2 miles northeast of Withee, Clark County, Wis., on Wednesday, Oct 23, 1929, at the age of 70 years and 7 months. He had been ills since last May when he suffered a paralytic stroke.

He was born in Hocking Co., Ohio in 1859, and grew to manhood there. In 1880 he was married to Effie Kuhn, also of Hocking Co., Ohio, and two children were born to this union. After his marriage the next ten years were spent in the West, and upon returning to the Middle West, settled in Minneapolis, where he was employed by the Minneapolis Street Railway Co. They came to Owen 22 years ago and lived for six years on a farm 2 miles north of the city, after that purchasing the farm 2 miles northeast of Withee, where he resided at the time of his death.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church in Withee on Friday afternoon, Rev. Irish of Thorp, officiating, and interment was made in Riverside Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, Roy A. of Withee and William A. of Powers, Mich. The bereaved family has the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in the loss of their husband and father.
