Fillipp, Irene (24 JUN 1914 - 12 JUN 1930)

Irene Fillipp, sixteen year old daughter of Nestor Fillipp, residing one mile east of the city (Owen, Clark County, Wis.), was fatally injured Thursday evening of last week, when she was struck by an automobile driven by Rev. Ruben Gustafson. The young lady had just stepped from a car, and walked around it, when she was knocked down by a passing car. The accident happened in such a short time that none were aware of the girl's misfortune. She was dragged some distance by the Gustafson car. Rev. Gustafson stopped his car, and the young lady was rushed to the Legault hospital, where medical attention was given her, but her injuries were such that she passed away without regaining consciousness. The driver of the car was not held as the accident was unavoidable.

The deceased was born June 24, 1914, at Owen, and following the death of her mother four years later, made her home with her only sister, Mrs. L. L. Baldwin, at Wolf Point, Mont., where she completed the seventh grade in the public school.

The family then moved to Williston, N.D., where she attended school one year, after which she accompanied her sister and nephews back to Owen and entered high school in 1928.

Funeral services were conducted from the home of her father, Monday afternoon, Rev. W. P. Powell of the Congregational Church, and Rev. Kunsisto of Minneapolis, officiating. Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.

Besides her father, she leaves to mourn, one sister, Mrs. L. L. Baldwin, Wolf Point, Mont., and six brothers: William Chicago, Verne, Uno, Richard, Harold and Orville, all of Owen.
