McCarl, Dinah (2 MAY 1844 - 27 Mar 1920)

Mrs. Dinah McCarl died at the home of her son John in the town of Grant, Clark County, Wis., March 27, 1920.

Mrs. McCarl, whose maiden name was Dinah Hitchcock was born near Devonshire, England, May 2, 1844. The family came to America in 1852, living for a time near Rochester, N.Y. She was married in 1866 to George McCarl and in 1869 came to Clark County, living for a time in Washburn and for the last 35 years in Grant. Her husband died in 1895.

Mrs. McCarl was much loved by all who knew her. She was a woman with the kindest of hearts and everyone had a good word for her. She leaves to children, a son, John McCarl, with whom she lived, and a daughter, Mrs. Eugene Hagie of Washburn; also one sister, Mrs. J. M. Winters in Washburn and a brother, Thomas Hitchcock of Alma Center.

The funeral was held Tuesday forenoon, Rev. L. B. Colman officiating; burial took place in Grant Cemetery.
