Marion "Toots" Elsinger, 81, Loyal, died on Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at her home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 23, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal. There will be a prayers service held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m., on Wednesday, Nov 24, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jesse Nelson, Zachary Schmitt, Steve Potter, Mike Halpin, Jeremy Mews, and Craig Elsinger.

Marion Rueth was born on May 4, 1918, in Loyal, to Frank and Bertha [Schweiger] Rueth. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at St. Balthazar's Parocial School and Loyal High School. She married John [Hans] Elsinger on Nov. 23, 1938, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. They moved to Iowa and farmed until 1942, at which time they returned to Loyal and farmed southeast of town. In 1960, they moved into Loyal. She worked for Rellis' IGA, the Loyal Cannery, and for Wepfer's Pharmacy for 23 years. Her husband died on Dec. 11, 1980. In 1998, she moved into the Hometown Village Apartments, Loyal, and resided there until the time of her death. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and its PCCW, Loyal Senior Citizen Club, and enjoyed playing cards, shopping and family get-togethers.

Survivors include six daughters, Carol [Jon] Fisher, Spencer, Jeanette [Bill] Erickson, Waunakee, Mary [Warren] Tesmer, Brook Park, Ohio, Karen [John] Nelson, Loyal, Shelby Schmitt, Marshfield, and Pamela [Tracy] Mews, Loyal; three sons, Jerry Elsinger, Spencer, Tom [Arnette] Elsinger, Menominee Falls, and James [Marie] Elsinger, Loyal; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Leonard [Betty] Rueth, Greenwood; and one sister-in-law, Agnes Rueth, Loyal.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Elsinger; one daughter, Judy Wann, in January 1988; two sisters, Frances Langfeldt and Rosilind Beaver; and one brother, Franklin Rueth.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, is assisting the family with arrangements.
