Greenwood - Byron Bassett, 81, who was making his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Bassett, on the old home farm on route 1, Greenwood, 5 miles south of Loyal in the Town of York, died at 12:10 a.m. today at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he had been a patient the past tow weeks. Death was caused by lobar pneumonia and old age complications. Tentative funeral arrangements have been made for Monday afternoon at the Loyal Methodist Church, the Rev. M.E. Taylor officiating. Interment will be made in the York Center cemetery. Mr. Bassett was born in the Town of Beaver. His wife died several years ago. Surviving besides his son, Clayton, are three daughters, Mrs. Mike (Alma) Beaver, Mrs. Ed (Sylvia) Pagelsdorf, and Mrs. H. E. (Vivian) Catlin, all of Loyal.
