Donald E. Free, 46, Muncie, Ind., formerly of the town of York, Clark County, died Monday, March 23, 1987 in Bloomsbury, N. J. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. at Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, Friday, March 27. Rev. Joseph R. Kraly, Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, officiated. Patricia Nickel was the singer and Caroline Helm, the accompanist. Pallbearers were nephews. Burial was in the town of York Cemetery, Granton. Mr. Free was born June 7, 1940 in the town of York, Clark County, to Herbert M. and Inger J. (nee Searls) Free. He received his education in Lincoln School, town of York and Loyal High School. After his education, he started farming with his parents in the town of York. On June 17, 1967, he and Carol Drescher were married in Granton. They later divorced. He purchased the home farm from his parents and farmed until 1984 when he retired from farming and started driving truck. He moved to Muncie, Ind. Within the past year where he was a truck driver until the time of his sudden death. He is survived by seven children, David, Greenwood, Kevin, Muncie, Ind., Vicki, Loyal, Bruce, Muncie, Ind., Chris, Debbie and Connie Free of Loyal, and three sisters, Mrs. Richard (Viola) Buchholz, Neillsville, Mrs. LaVern (Inez) Spuhler, Loyal, and Mrs. Leatrice Murphy, Barstow, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents.
