Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the York Center Methodist Church for Herbert M. Free, 78, Loyal, who died late Tuesday at Memorial Hospital where he had been admitted as a patient earlier in the day. Rev. Conrad Mickelson, Loyal, will officiate and burial will be made in the York Center cemetery. Friends May call at Georgas Funeral Home in Neillsville until 12:30 p.m. Friday, and than at the church. Mr. Free was born April 23, 1892, in the town of Weston, and had lived there until 1967 when he moved to Loyal. He was married at Neillsville Jan. 17, 1928 to the former Inger J. Searls who survives him. Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Leatrice) Murphy, Black River Falls; Mrs. LaVerne (Inez) Spuhler, Loyal; and Mrs. Richard (Viola) Buchholz, Neillsville; a son, Donald, route 1, Neillsville; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Hines, Fresno, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, and by four sisters.
