Wera Kier, 83, of 913 Central Ave. died at 11:20 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital Emergency Room. Death was due to a lingering illness. Services will ben at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hansen Funeral Home. The Rev. Joe Everett II will officiate. Burial will be in the town of York Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Visitations will be at the Hansen Funeral Home from 5 - 9 p.m. today and then on Saturday until services. She was born Dec. 5, 1904, in the town of York, to Wilhelm and Katherine Edens. She attended the town of York schools. She married Donald F. Kier, on June 24, 1925, at her parents' home in the town of York. They lived in Marshfield until 1929. They then moved to a farm near Granton and in 1938, moved back to Wood County. They resided in Nasonville until the spring of 1986 when they moved to the city of Marshfield. She was a member of the Calvary Bible Church. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Rev. Everett L. Kier of La Paz, Ind., Dr. Milton G. Kier of Balsam Lake, and Norbert E. Kier of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Alice) Cattanach of Madison, and Mrs. Ronald (Muriel) Jameson of Thomaston, Maine; one brother, Hans J. Edens of Hinckley, Minn.; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son, Bernard, two brothers, three sisters, and five grandchildren.
