Funeral services for Mrs. Roy Lawrence were held Tuesday afternoon, May 15, at 1:30 at the farm home in the Town of York, and 2 o'clock at the York Center Methodist Church of which the deceased had been a member for many years. Services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Myron Taylor, of Loyal and the Rev. Floyd A. Fahlgren, pastor of the Methodist church in Neillsville. Burial took place in the York Center Cemetery. Mrs. Lawrence died May 11, at the Sacred Heart hospital, Eau Claire, where she had been a patient for several weeks. Mrs. Lawrence was born Sadie Elizabeth Huntley, daughter of the late George and Mary Huntley, on March 19, 1881, in the Town of Grant. On February 16, 1905, she was married to Roy Lawrence in the Town of York. Her entire life was spent in this community, in the towns of Grant and York. About a year ago she had moved with her husband to Neillsville. She was 64 years of age. Mrs. Lawrence wa a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She is survived by her husband and four daughters, Agnes, Mrs. Herman G. Karlen, Monticello; Leta, Mrs. Francis Jacobson, Pittsville; Della, Mrs. Roy Chase, Neillsville; Vivian, Mrs. Lawrence Vandeberg, Marshfield. There are ten grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Harmon Huntley, Town of York, and Stillman Huntley, Monticello. Her parents and three brothers, Milton, Vernon and Francis, are deceased. Pallbearers were: George Mortimer, Jesse Mortimer, John Davis, Herbert Free, Merton Davis and Ernest Thur. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Jaster funeral home.
