That silent messenger, death, visited in this vicinity last Friday morning and entered the home of Mr. & Mrs. Jesse Mortimer and plucked a blossom from their midst. Iva Marie came as a ray of sunshine into this home only five months ago, but last Friday morning the little spirit took wings and flew to the Great Beyond, after being a little sufferer since its birth, to its heavenly home. The funeral took place from the M.E. Church Sunday afternoon. Rev. George Crow conducted the ceremonies, interment was made in the cemetery here. Four little girls acted as pall bearers namely Ethel and Ethel Deets, Agnes Lawrence and Rhonda Davis. To the bereaved parents the profoundest sympathy is extended. Those from away who was here to attend the funeral was Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Davis and Mr. & Mrs. Jay Davis of Marshfield.
