Morris Melvin Turner, oldest son of Melvin and Augusta Turner, was born in the Town of York, August 6th, 1878, and passed away at the Neillsville Hospital at 3:30 P.M. December 21st 1935, having reached the age of 57 years, 4 months and 15 days. He was born and raised and lived his entire life on the home farm. On the third of October, last, he was taken to the Marshfield Hospital for an operation, from which he never fully recovered, and December 16th it became necessary for him to be taken to the Neillsville Hospital for medical care. He seemed to be recovering when his condition suddenly became serious and he passed away on Saturday, December 21st. He leaves to mourn his loss, one sister, Mrs. Maude Stevens, one brother, Newell, still living on the home farm, one nephew, besides other relatives and a host of friends, and neighbors. Funeral services were held at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon at the residence, the Rev. A. N. Chapman, pastor of the local M. E. Church, officiating. Interment took place in the York Cemetery.
