This neighborhood was shocked and saddened last Thursday by the news that Mrs. Lawrence Vandeberg had died that day in the Marshfield Hospital. She had been sick only a few days and her case was not thought serious until Thursday morning. She was a girl friendly with everyone and always having a good time and making a good time for others. She was married in June 4, 1924 to Lawrence Vandeberg. The blow is a very sad one to the young husband and her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Dierks of this place. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the York Center Church, burial taking place there. Rev. Wilson Mallory of Granton preached the funeral sermon. Art Kunzie, Ernie Kimmin, Ralph and Elmer Northrup, Donald Kier, Clayton Turner, Harvey Palmer and Ira Davis were the bearers. Clara Riphenberg, Velda and Vivian Lawrence and Bernice Vandeberg were flower girls. The many flowers and the large crowd of people in attendance showed how much she was loved by all that knew her.
