Nielsen, Marie C. (4 NOV 1865 - 18 Jan 1949)

Mrs. C.N. Nielsen passed away Jan. 18, 1949.

Marie Christine Block was born on the 4th of Nov. in Denmark. She came to this country at the age of 22 years, working in Elgin, Ill. for two years. At the age of 24 she was married to Nels Christian Nielsen. They made their home at Chicago, Ill. In 1894 they moved to Withee, Clark County, Wis., purchasing the land on which they developed their home where she continued to reside until the time of her death. Mr. Nielsen preceded his wife in death 13 years ago.

To this union seven children were born. One infant son passed away and was buried in Chicago before the family moved to this community.

Mae Christine passed away in 1918 at the age of 22 years. Marvin Christian passed away in 1947 at the age of 48.

Living at Big Sandy, Mont. is Elmer. At Havre, Mont. resides Andrew and Clarence is now living at Mayville, Wis. and Julianne Freitag is a resident of Withee.

There are nine living grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nielsen was a kind loving mother that will be missed by those dear to her.

Those from out of town attending the funeral on Friday, Jan. 21 were: Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Nielsen and daughter, of Mayville, Wis.; Elmer Nielsen of Big Sandy, Mont. and Andrew Nielsen of Havre, Mont.
