STARK FUNERAL HELD THURSDAY, JULY 10, 1947

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, afternoon, July 10, at 2 o'clock at the Griebenow Funeral Home for Herman J. Stark, 35, who died Monday evening, July 7th, 1947, at his home north of Owen, following a lingering illness. The Rev. C. S. Matthews was in charge of the rites and burial was made in Riverside cemetery.

Pall beareres were Ray Slock, John Kalinoski, Arve Hermanson, Morris Martens, Fred Stegeman, and Arnold Jensen. Flower girls were Essie Slock, Alene Eberts, Harriet Frey, Marian Hemminger, Jenny Anzalone and Madelin Wehye.

Herman John Stark, son of Herman Stark, Sr., Withee, was born Feb. 26, 1912, and was married Oct. 1, 1935, to Myrtle A. Dearth at Owen. He was engaged in trucking and operated a milk route to the Owen ice cream factory for 10 years. The past several years he also purchased livestock within the Owen, Withee and Abbotsford vicinity.

Surviving besides his father and wife are five children, Robert John, 11; Lorna Mae, 9; Margaret Ann, 7; Richard Allen, 3; and Vernon James, 1. Two brothers, Allen and Louis, Withee, and two sisters, Mrs. A. (Martha) Melbinger, Cicero, Ill., and Helen, Waukesha, also survive.

Relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Arleigh Melbinger and son, Donald Cicero, Ill.; Miss Helen Stark and Anton Nowak, Waukesha; Mr. and Mrs. Louis P. Stark and Mr. and Mrs. William Drueger, Rock Island, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Willard Bischof and Mrs. Fred Bischof, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Dearth and family, Prentice; and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dearth, Unity.
