Elaine Mech
Elaine B. Mech, 80, Greenwood, died on Friday, July 11, 2003, at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, July 15, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Rahm, Bunny Hare, Bryan Mech, Vic Wagner, Ralph Landini, Dennis Humke, and Ozzie Jackson.
Elaine B. Buker was born on Feb. 20, 1923, in Greenwood, to Arthur and Mae (nee LeGault) Buker. She was raised and educated in Greenwood, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1940, She continued her education at UW-Madison for 3 1/2 years. She married Vernon Mech on May 22, 1943, in Madison. They lived in Greenwood, where she taught typing and shorthand in Clark County Schools for 12 years. She then spent time being a homemaker and raising her family. She resided in Greenwood until the time of her death. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a past director of the Farmers and Merchants Bank, Greenwood.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon, Greenwood; one daughter, Vicki (Richard E.) Mech-Hester, Indianapolis, Ind.; one son, Michael (Tina) Mech, St. Paul, Minn.; three grandchildren; one brother, Cy (Harriet) Buker, Greenwood; a niece, Bonnie Buker, Withee; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Memorials May be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
