Dolores Thomas

Dolores C. Thomas, 77, Greednwood, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, in the Palliative Care Unit at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 14, at Grace United Methodist Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Wendell Williams officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Glen Thomas, Gene Oelrich, Troy Thomas, Wayne Thomas, Steven Thomas, and Matthew Thomas.

Dolores Charlotte Malinowski was born Oct. 9, 1925 in Chicago, Ill., to Charles and Vera (nee Szymanski) Malinowski. Her family moved to Greenwood in 1939, and after completing her education, she worked in the Greenwood area doing domestic work for families. She married Arnold Thomas on Oct. 10, 1945, in Missouri. She farmed with her husband, south of Greenwood. In April, 2001, they moved into Greenwood and resided there until the time of her death. Her interests included spending time with her family, reading, word search puzzles, and baking.

Survivors include her husband, Arnold, Greenwood; four sons, Richard Thomas, Loyal, Dennis (Alta) Thomas, LaFarge, Everett (Cheryl) Thomas, Greenwood, and LeRoy Thomas, Greenwood; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard Malin, Mount Shasta, calif., and Alfred (Rena) Malin, Ocala, Fla.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one great-grandson, Ethan; and three brothers, Edward Malinowski, Robert Malinowski, and Charles Malinowski, Jr.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
