McBride, James (12 MAR 1830)

James McBride was born in Schuylkill co., Penn., March 12, 1830, and came to La Crosse Co., Wis. during the last year of the war. He came to Humbird, Clark County, Wis. in 1871 and was married to Isabel Ladd Dec. 15, 1873. In the past two or three years Humbird has added two brick buildings, creamery and cheese factory, cement walks, lumber yard. There is more business carried on here than in any neighboring town of the same size, and we have many enterprising people who are doing everything they can to help the town along; among them are Richard Zerbel who has bought and sold a great deal of real estate and our good blacksmith, who has made great improvements in both shop and dwelling house. Mr. McBride's occupation when younger was that of lumberman.
