Harvey, Byron (8 JAN 1838)
Byron Harvey, a native of New York State, was born Jan. 8, 1838 and came west with his parents when quite young, settling in Walworth Co., Wis., on the state line. He came to Houghtonburg in 1875, and to town Oct. 5, 1904. He was married to Lizzie Parkhurst March 10, 1898 and has three children. He thinks the reawakening is due to the dairy business. The future has good prospects. The town he says needs a good hotel and more businessmen that will go ahead and build things up as some have done. The farmers have done their share and now the people must do something. It compares pretty well with surrounding towns, but is not yet as prosperous as some.
