Obituary - The Spencer Record - 4 - 12 - 1962 - pg - 1 - Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, April 5, at the Jasperson Funeral Chapel for Henry Gunz, 72, who passed away at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the home of his sister, Mrs. William Reinheimer, Route 2, Spencer.
The Rev. L. L. McCormick, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Chili officiated & burial was made in West Spencer Cemetery.
During the service Mrs. Norman Kasper sang "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" & Beneath The Cross of Jesus" accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Dora Tesmer.
Pallbearers were Joe Arbelovsky Sr., Robert Rollins, Lowell Schultz, Joe Arbelovsky Jr., John Prust & Roy Lindow.
Mr. Gunz was born May 3, 1889 in Mount Vernon, South Dakota. He came to this area in 1901 with his parents & has lived here since. He operated a farm in the Town of Freemont & was a treasurer of the Pine Valley School for two years.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. William Reinheimer, Spencer, & Mrs. Emma Leach, Circle Spring, Alaska & three brothers, Edwin & George Gunz, Spencer & Albert Gunz, Beloit.
Attending from out of town were Mr. Albert Gunz & Mr. Earl Gunz of Beloit & others from Greenwood, Chili & Loyal.
