Bogumill, one of the leading and respected citizens of the village

seventy-six years. Mr. Bogumill had
many friends who will deeply mourn his passing. His was a generous
nature, ever willing to lend a helping hand or a bit of sound
advice to his less informed countrymen. The attendance of
our citizens at the funeral and the profusion of floral offerings
but partly signified the high esteem in which he was held. He was born in

Thorp. This he operated for six years and then moved to Thorp
village where he became engaged in the mercantile business, later
taking his sons as partners and building what is now known as the
Farmer's Store. Mr. Bogumill was
active in civic affairs serving as supervisor and a school board
member in the Towns of Thorp and Withee during his residence there
and also village trustee for a number of years. He also served as a
director of the Farmers' Exchange Bank. He was a devoted
husband and a kind and indulgent father, successful in providing
his eleven children with the advantages of an advanced education
and keeping the family circle intact. Mr. and Mrs. Bogumill
celebrated their golden wedding anniversary four years ago. Surviving him are
