Lloyd Clinton Markham was born in the town of Mentor, Clark County, Wis., Jan. 26, 1898, and died at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, on April 27, 1917, age 19 years, 3 months and 1 day. He was taken to the hospital a short time previous for an operation for appendicitis, but gangrene set in and proved fatal. The remains were brought to this village on Sunday noon and taken to the Methodist Church, where funeral services were held, Rev. J. D. Crandell officiating. Burial was in the Mentor Cemetery, where this father and an older brother were interred. He leaves to mourn his death his mother, who makes her home with a daughter near Strum, two sisters, Mrs. E. Haines of Strum, and Mrs. Irwin Beede of Merrillan, and three brothers, Ira of Augusta, Walter of Merrillan, and Maurice of Augusta, besides a large number of other relatives and friends.
The family desires to extend their sincere thanks to the many friends who assisted them in different ways at the time of the death and burial of their son and brother.
