Smith, Evelyn (24 OCT 1883 - 25 Oct 1916)

Evelyn Lincoln was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Oct. 24, 1883, and died in Minneapolis, Minn., Oct. 25, 1916. Her age at the time of her death was 33 years and 1 day.

When she was about ten years of age she came with her parents to Humbird, Clark County, Wis., where she grew to young womanhood and were, unconsciously perhaps, she was laying the foundation of the beautiful character which was a comfort and joy to all who knew her.

On Oct. 25, 1905, she was united in marriage to Mr. Herman Smith and made their home in Eau Claire for several years. Later they moved to Minneapolis, where they lived until she was called to that better land.

She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, two sons, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Lincoln of Owen, Clark County; one sister, Mrs. Stergist of St. Paul; and three brothers, Ed, Harry and Robert.

The remains were placed in a vault at Minneapolis, and last Saturday were brought to this village for burial, accompanied by the parents, sister, and youngest brother. Services were held at the M. E. Church at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. H. S. Witherbee preaching the sermon. Quite a large number of former friends of the family were in attendance. Burial was in the Houghtonburg Cemetery.
