Mrs. Casper (Frances) Sobcyak died at her home in Fairchild, Eau Claire Co., Wis. Sunday night, Jan. 20, 1918, at 9:15 o'clock after an illness of two years. Mrs. Sobcyak was born in Poland Sept. 6, 1856, and was 61 years, 4 months and 14 days old at the time of her death. She was married Jan. 25, 1881 to Casper Sobcyak in Poland, seven years later they migrated to America and settled near Winona, Minn., where they lived until they moved to Fairchild 22 years ago.
Mrs. Sobcyak leaves her husband and seven children to mourn her departure: Jacob of Humbird, Clark County, Clarence of Fairchild, Edward of Woodman, Colo., John, Bessie and Steve, Fairchild, and Helen of Minneapolis. She also leaves three brothers: Anton Polus, Fairchild, Jack Plus, St. Paul, and Joe Polus of Winona. Mrs. Sobcyak was operated on for breast cancer two years ago but never recovered, and during the last five months she has been confined to her bed. The funeral was Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, the Rev. Mr. Pow officiating. Burial was in the Fairchild Cemetery.
