Bever, Peter (3 MAR 1855 - 5 Sep 1918)
Peter Bever, one of the pioneers of Fairview and a highly respected citizen of this community, has gone to his eternal rest. Peter Bever died Thursday morning, Sept. 5, 1918, of cancer of the stomach after an illness of two years duration.
Mr. Bever was born in Milwaukee March 3, 1855, in a little house near where the imposing post office now stands in that city. When an infant of 18 months his parents moved to Fairchild and settled on the farm now owned by a nephew, Adolph Bermann. It was here he grew to manhood and it was to this farm he brought his bride when on Nov. 22, 1877, he was married to Bernadine Bergmann. Four daughters and two sons, together with his wife, survive.
Mr. Bever continued his farming operations until about seven years ago when he moved to Fairchild, Eau Claire County, Wis.. Prayer was offered Monday morning at the home and the funeral proceeded to the Fairview Church, where a solemn high mass was sung by Rev. Fr. J. V Scheffer, a nephew.
