Lubinski, Cora (11 MAY 1892 - 28 Augl 1920)
Cora Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Smith, was born at Moose Lake, Minn., May 11, 1892, and passed away at her home north of Humbird on Aug. 28, 1920.
When two years of age, she moved with her parents onto the home farm three miles west of this village, where she grew to womanhood. On Aug. 20, 1911, she was united in marriage with Andrew Lubinski. They lived in this vicinity until four years ago when they moved to Prescott, where they resided for two years, then went to Hudson.. Last February Mrs. Lubinski was taken seriously ill, and her husband brought her back here, where she could be near her parents and the old home. She was ill for seven months, part of which time was spent in the hospital. Everything that loving hands could do was done, but to no avail.
The funeral was held in the M. E. Church Tuesday afternoon, rev. Braddock officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the Mentor Cemetery beside her two children. The many flowers that covered her casket bespoke her many friends. Although she never united with any church, she was a firm believer in God, always teaching her children the right.
To Mr. and Mrs. Lubinski were born five children, two preceding their mother in death. Virgil, aged eight, Lilas, five, and Bobby, two, with the husband, are left to mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. There also mourn her untimely death, her parents, one sister, Maggie, and four brothers, Arthur, Stevie, Guy and Meldrum.
