Nelson, Barbara (30 Jul 1948 – 30 Nov 1977)
The Owen and Withee area was saddened last week to learn of the passing of Mrs.
Thomas (Barbara) Nelson, age 29, of Owen. She died at 3 a.m. Wednesday morning,
November 30, 1977 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. She had been taken to
the hospital on Tuesday and had been in and out of the hospital with a lingering
illness since last April.
Memorial services were held from Mrs. Nelson were held on Saturday afternoon,
December 3, 1977 at 1:00 p.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. The Rev.
Lloyd Yaggie officiated at the services and the graveside services at Riverside
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Delmar Anderson, Lanny Auberg, Mark Nesko, Tim Berseth, Joe
Wisnewski and John Wisnewski.
Barbara Nelson was born on July 30, 1948 in Stanley, Wisconsin, nee Barbara Jean
Berseth. She attended school in the Stanley-Boyd area schools. She was married
to Thomas Nelson on December 30, 1966 in Withee, and they made their home in the
Owen and Withee area. They were members of the Nazareth Lutheran Church. She was
an employee of Thorp Finance.
She is survived by her husband, four sons, Robert, Ricky, Randall and William,
all at home in Owen; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Berseth of Stanley; two
brothers, William of Victorville, California, and John of Withee; and four
sisters, Mrs. Fred (Susan) Wisnewski of Stanley, Mrs. James (Phyllis) Gonske of
Rice Lake, Miss Nancy Berseth, Menomonie, and Miss Caroline Berseth, Stanley.
