Ethel Honzik, age 86, of Neillsville, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, at the Memorial Nursing Home in Neillsville, Wis.
Ethel Mae Honzik was born on Nov. 17, 1918 in Osseo, the daughter of George and Chrissy (Thompson) Mooris. She attended schools in Osseo and Neillsville, Wis. She was united in marriage to Peter Honzik on Nov. 6, 1940. Ethel raised her family as a homemaker and then provided countless hours of childcare to her grandchildren.
Surviving her are two daughters, Patricia (Kenneth) Benedict, of Black River Falls; and Beverly Batista, of Marshfield; eight grandchildren, Linda, Carol, Michelle, Jeannette, Eugene, Christine, Reyceto and Reyna; 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Peter.
Funeral services for Ethel were held Monday, Aug. 29, at the United Church of Christ. Pastor James Mohr officiated. Interment was in the Dells Dam Cemetery.
Casket bearers were her grandsons and great grandsons, Eugene Springstead, Rey Batista, Sonny Pyka, Christopher Sanders, Patrick and Randy Calkins.
The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Ethel’s family with funeral arrangements.
