Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Mexico Trip - 1972)
Mayor and Mrs. Kenneth Olson of Neillsville returned last week from a 15-day
motor trip to Mexico City. They accompanied two sisters of Mrs. Olson and their
husbands, and an aunt: Mr. and Mrs. Paul Swenby of New Richmond, Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Becker of Crandon, and Mrs. Christ Stapf of Rush city, Mn. Their 5,603
miles trip took them through St. Louis, Mo., Little Rock, Ark, Beaumont and
Brownsville, Tx, and Victoria, Mexico.
“The roads in Mexico were better than those we traveled in Iowa,” Mayor Olson
told The Clark County Press; “and driving was no worse than we have done in the
Rocky Mountain area. There is a lot of truck traffic” he continued, “but the
rigs appear to be mostly new and well-kept.”
While the trip was interesting, Mayor Olson said he was “glad to see the United
States again” when they returned from Mexico City.
