Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Lamovec and children, who were called by the death her
mother, Mrs. Anna Strnad, returned to their home in Elmhurst, Il, on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Kuester and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Awe attended the funeral of
Mrs. Anna Domes in West Bend Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Werner spent Sunday at Winchester with her uncle and aunt, Mr.
and Mrs. R. C. Erickson.
Sunday dinner and supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eldor Humke were Mr.
and Mrs. Brice Bender of Colby.
Members of the Intersee Club were entertained Wednesday evening at the home of
Mrs. John Lindner.
The Come and Know Homemakers met Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Dennis
Bauer. Mrs. Ernest Elmer presided. Plans for a rummage sale were completed. Mrs.
Thomas Querin gave the lesson on “poisons in the home.” The next meeting will be
held Tuesday, May 16, at the home of Mrs. Arthur Turnquist. Mrs. Leonard Olson
will give the safety lesson on “alcoholism.”
The Salem Aid met Tuesday afternoon in the Zion United Church of Christ. Mrs.
Vernon Lust presided. It was voted to donate $50 each to the Zion and Immanuel
churches and $10 to the Cancer fund. Plans were made to attend the meeting of
the women’s group at Owen. The lesson was led by Mrs. Lust. The next meeting
will be held May 13. Hostesses will be Mrs. Gust Horn, Mrs. Theodore Braun, Mrs.
Otto Horn, and Mrs. Hubert Horn. Mrs. Adolph Wessel (missing words here)
